What better way to learn how to freedive than in the crystal clear, warm waters of Koh Tao?
The freediver course is the foundation of your freediving training. You will learn about the 4 core elements of free diving: how to conserve oxygen, use proper equalisation techniques, improve your flexibility, and how to freedive safely to depths of up to 20 meters (66ft). The freediver course guides students through a 3-phase process consisting of free diving theory, confined water skills and two open water freedive sessions.
Additional stretching and breathing sessions prepare you for your first freedive to learn the necessary relaxation, breathing and recovery techniques.
During the in water sessions you will gain experience in the free diving disciplines of dynamic apnea (DYN), constant weight (CWT) and free immersion (FIM). Learning and practicing the safety procedures for free diving will make you a comfortable and safe freediver.
Your instructor will accompany you at all times to give you personalised instruction and feedback.
No previous freediving or scuba dive experience is required to begin this course.
Upon completion of the course students will be certified to freedive to a depth of 20 meters (66ft) with a freedive buddy of equal or higher certification. The certification is valid for the rest of your life, meaning that you can freedive with any free diving centre, anywhere in the world!
After finishing the freediver course you can come on our training and fun dives around Koh Tao. To gain more experience as a freediver you can continue your education with our Advanced Freediver Course and learn how to go to a depth of 30 meters.
